Too Lazy to Type.

Sometimes I hate Firefox, especially when the damn thing decides it is going to throw a wobbly and crashes so that the stuff you've just written is lost. So now I am in cranky old cow mode and need to type everything again. /me takes a good swipe at the stoopid bloody engine.

Two lots of goodies for you today. First is a little retro dress from *pop feel* that was L$160 and is brand new on the walls. This is a designer that I have seen before and started to take a looong look at; she has other things of loveliness there too and there is some really competitive pricing going on. I liked this frock cos you could use the collar separately as a piece of jewellery with other outfits, and the top is sweet on its own teamed with a pair of jeans. Hair is the long-time-ago freebie from RaC, and I'm wearing a Cupcakes skin (Mimi Coral is a goddess - fact) that was L$100 for 8 skins - Love Pearl Marilyn - a bargain in anyone's book. It is also gorgeous, and glowy, which I absolutely love. The little crystal bracelet is from *MM*, L$95 - Pearlie Pedro - who make exquisite pieces that are very reasonably priced and come scripted so the metal changes colour. The tights are the free set from G.L.A.M., which is situated in the same sim as *MM* - so great shopping to be had there.

The second of my little finds is from the Sleepy Hollow sim, and I went there to check out Grim Babies because the whole concept made me howl like a drain. Sorry, I have a fairly sick sense of humour... well, I'm not really sorry cos I am actually pretty perverse. :P

Anyhoo, a great gothy sim with ace clobber to be had and some fabbo doll stuff, like keys and special skins. The clothes are awesomeness too. This outfit is from Go Ask Alice (**GAA), and was L$150, which is not a bad price at all when you see how much work is there. I love it and wore it with an Eloh Another Shop mod skin (Bella Morte) - I cannot for the life of me recall where I got it, though - and L$1 hair from Diversity, Stephanie. Looks pretty damn fine to me. The boots are from !!!Miyu design*, and are the long old boots 06 L$250.

Oh, oh... before I forget, the outfit comes with a great tophat too, but it wouldn't fit on my big hair.

WRONGNESS!

Wow... on a roll here; two posts in two days. Anyhoo, I don't claim to have the greatest eye for fashion or stuff, but OMG, you have to ask yourself "WHY?" None of these looks is good, so don't go there, folks, please. The middle pic seems a tad ironic given where it was taken - a rather tasteful and highly popular emporium frequented by many a fashionista - so one can only hope that better boots were purchased. As for the sliders (bewbs on 100 are not good), hair, oil and general tackiness of it all, it's just too damn much. Sexy should be subtle, unless you really are trying for top whore?

Now I know style is an individual thing, and as such should be celebrated in all its variations, but I do despair of some looks that abound in SL. Ho hum... lemme know what ya think, if ya dare to.

No Eggscuse at all.

Well, I have really, cos I've been busy in RL doing Glastonbury stuff - no sky dancing, folks, too damn cold! - which is an amazing place and if you have even the slightest leaning towards spirituality you should go see for yourself. It also has great pubs. :P

So, I was away for 6 days and when I came back a lot had happened in SL. No shit, I hear you cry. I missed so much good free stuff, I was busy chewing the back of my chair in plain despair. Well, almost. However there is some truly greeeaaaat stuff about now that Oestre has departed us, so take a looksie at these little gems...

First up, a new store by the name of BLAND, which is anything but. I bought a couple of absolutely gorgeous items, but the freebie box is so damn worthwhile I implore all to go get it. There is a dress, some undies/'kini and a T-shirt all for the stellar price of L$0. They are good too. Really good, hand-drawn textures with lovely details. Fabbo, dahlings!

The next freebie was from another new store I have never heard of before - VOGART - situated at a sim by the name of TRILOGY (216, 205, 598). It's a great place to look round too, and as the weather is a bit wet take a brolly and some wellies. Or a snorkel... take your pick. LOL The freeb is a lovely red gingham cami, with a little prim skirt that is moddable. Sadly, I had to wear my skinny Taille to wear it but it still looks really cute with ROSEMAR's free jeans. The skin is also a freeb from ROSEMAR (I love those skins, dammit) as a group giftie. JOIN, I tell you; Rosemary is generosity itself. The last item on my list was a group gift from the awesome, original and totally gobsmackingly good *KUROTSUBAKI* for March. Beautiful textures, seams and design, plus the little yellow flower in the free Bewitched hair I'm wearing is KEWT! The only not free stuff I have on today are the new shoes from Adam n Eve - Clomps - which are being flogged for the cheap as chips price of L$100 for a limited time. Get your booties to that there sim, kiddos! Jewellery does not count. Hehehe. Be safe all. xxx

HEADS UP ALL!

I went over to take a look at the new ROSEMAR skins today, mostly because there is a great freebie offer on, and met their creator, Rosemary Galbraith. She is a lovely lady, and we got chatting about this and that despite her being completely knackered as she was WAAAY past her bedtime. Anyhoo...

The long and short of it is that you need to join the ROSEMAR update group as Rosemary will be giving all who join a FREE skin of their choice.

I suggest you get there quickish, and make sure you drop all your prims if the sim is busy! It's only polite. Oh yeah... be nice, people. This is a truly generous offer.

Four for the Price of None!

I wanted to do something a bit more unusual today and show how you can get four great looks from two spectacular dresses that I have had sitting in my inventory for a bloody age. Separately both are what can be described as "The Mutt's Nuts" (just let your mind wander to the attention a male dog pays to certain parts of its anatomy - you'll get the reference), and look fantastic. They were also freebies, which makes this an even better deal.

In this shot I'm wearing the *Fireflies Boutique* dress top - Cosette - with the GHOST! - 7AM big ruffly, red skirt and glitch pants. They look as if they were made for each other. I also look like a gal that's been let down by some random wanker who couldn't be bothered to turn up, but that's another story... :X Personally, and you make your minds up medears, I think this is an awesome look, plus it reminds me of that dress Carrie from "Sex and the City" wore in the final episode? Don't ya LOVE that show?
The next shot shows the tops and bottoms reversed, and with the freeb (group giftie - go join!) belt from (PixelDolls) - Empress in black - I think it is another really great look. This is more salsa and cocktail where as the other is pure princess. Glad I shaved for this shot, and didn't do a Julia Roberts.

The skin is my fave freeb, S.Y.D. Autism, and I will wear it till all my pixels decay. LOL

Two sets of hair were used for these shots, both from ETD, and were a purchase I'm particularly fond of. The updo is called Shanna, L$175, and the long, black 'do' an AVEDA style (main SLurl) - Long Wavy - and retailed at L$100. AVEDA is also available at the ETD sim should you wanna risk the lag hell at the moment. Great freebies, btw, so get your hunting hat on and remember to say "ta muchly" if you see Elikapeka Tiramisu about! Thanks, Elika.

Shoes worn are my beloved ETD Heel Strap Platforms in red.

Remember, too, that you can just shift these back to the way the designers intended, hence four for none! I recommend everybody does this as it is a helluva way to make those Linden's go further. Same as in RL, a few pricey pieces and mix'n'match. Or, as here, free, free, free. LOL Enjoy!

Getting an Act Together!

I'm not much of a blogger, me, cos they remind me of the pointless diaries I had given to me as a nipper from some well meaning reli at Crimbo. I never used them - still don't - and have only ever found the bizarre public holidays for other countries to be of interest. There's something to be said for those holidays though, and I believe it should be on the political agenda as Very Important Indeed. Are you listening, Gordon?

Anyhoo, enough rambling and on with the outfit. I love, love, love this dress because it is so not subtle, and I wanted loud. The texture on this dress isn't just loud, it is LOUD. No pathetic squeaking here, thankee greatly ma'am. Oh no... It's 60's style loveliness is from *DP Serendipity, a shop I have bought a few things from before. I recommend it highly as all of the things sold there are ace and there is a good range of price, though this little number ain't exactly newb friendly as it retails at L$160. The only complaint is that it doesn't come as a scripted skirt and will fall away to show midriff when the AO is attached. Being somewhat chunky for an av makes this a feckin' PITA. However...

As you can see, it is quite demure from the front but the back is a different matter as it shows off pretty shoulders wonderfully (er... not that I'm bigging mine up... even if they are LOL).

Because I'm a tramp, I'm wearing *Sheer* torn white tights, which are L$100 for the pack. There are a wide range of colours available as well as a couple of really awesome freebies. Go collect them because they will look great whatever your outfit is and visit the *Sheer* outlet at Le Zoo, where everybody should go cos it's great.

The curly hair I'm wearing is a giftie from the Bewitched Update Group that I have previously blogged. I have to admit though that I had no idea I had this cute little 'do' on my inventory until today. Which is a damn fine lesson about keeping on top of everything in there! If you let an inventory run away with itself, eventually they will be an event horizon from whence you will never return.

My skin is the lovely Wax Poetic Java Joe and was L$200, which is a very fair price indeed for this quality. Damn, I'm greatful there are some excellent skinners in SL now who put their work out for such a bargain.

Jewellery, bangle and earrings, was free from Rue D'Antibes ({JUNK})when the sim opened so I'm not certain if they still are. I hope everybody got the chance to explore this great place and pick them up, but if not go anyway as I love it there.

Beige snakeskin platforms came from Kitties Lair and are the much blogged new Tease! No, they were not cheap, but as I've pointed out before I am a self-confessed shoe slut of the first order and my soul went off to the devil a looooong time ago! /me clears throat... Um, L$290 - and cheap say I, defensively. I fell hard, medears, really hard.

Well, now I've managed to get an act together, I will hop off and do some more searching. Good hunting, my lovelies. xxx

Fly Me to A Sim...

I like Minajunk, I really do, because she makes ace stuff and it looks effing great. Just look at this simply beautiful headpiece, which is completely FREE! That's right, muchachos, free. I feel certain that if she made shoes or any other thing then I would be there in a heartbeat. Mina has talent, I tell yas, real, bona fide talent. The little butterflies at the bottom are flexi and move when you do. Sweet...

The lovely dress is from Total Betty Boutique and is something I've had a while, just sitting there in my inventory, as you do, gathering pixelated dust until this very moment. I got it at the boutique in Son (175, 208, 27) when that sim opened, but the main store is now in Plush Rho (see SLurl) - this dress isn't available anymore as a freebie, sadly. However, there are some excellent dollarbies, and also a 50% sale going on. Worth a visit, definitely, as all of the clothes are good quality items and reasonably priced.

Hair came to me by way of a group gift from Bewitched, and I recommend that this is a group you join as you get many items to try out. It's a subscribe-a-matic so won't cost you one of your precious twenty five. The hair I have on is a pretty flexi number and long - I don't do long usually cos I'm not certain the mush (= face) can take it. Prefer to stick to short darks, but as you can see from the piccies, it do look damn fine.

Shoozies are a freeb from *ICING*, and are still in her little wardrobe (= closet), thank all that's good. They are colour-scripted so you can chop'n' change 'em as much as your greedy little hearts desire. Er... not that I think anyone is really... er... (/me throws away the shovel, and looks at her hands) Sowwy... :P There are some other fabbo freebie items and, if you are really really new, the great Jack 'n' Jill starter packs are there too. Buy *ICING* - bloody amazing, and utterly gorgeous, so much so that you should rifle any lurking man's pockets immediately.

As for the jewells, well what can I say apart from OMG, how LUSH and (ugh) SQUEE! They are part of the St. Paddy's day gifts from Sparkle Skye Designs (/me waves at Sparkle) and Alienbear Gupte, and you MUST join their groups to be able to get these special items. The location is at Member shop (ALienbear's Design) , priced at L$1. Remember to wear the group tag or you will be turned down flat. Oh yeah.. Sparkle's dress for this giveaway is really rather special, and I am saving it for the right moment. TY for some great gifts, ladies.

Skin I'm in is another freebie that has been blogged to death by all and sundry. Sadly, it appears I too must get on the bandwagon and rave, or salivate, about the sheer greatness of it all. Available at the Skin Fair from Wax Poetic it is the Emo Queen Frostine. Looks pretty damn good, methinks.

Well, my lovelies, I would have included a SLurl for Wax Poetic but I can't. The grid has finally declared that it wants nothing to do with me and booted me off. In other words, it crashed. Dammit! Ho hum, it's getting a bit late and I have stuff to do in RL so maybe it's a hint too?

Nightie night, all. xxxx

The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring?

I always thought that lilacs bloomed in May, which happens to be one of my favourite months, but apparently Mimikri Kit had other ideas when she created this luscious little outfit way ahead of time? I bent the (self-imposed) rules of buying cheap because I truly NEEDED (like water to a dying wench) to have this ensemble. I feel certain there is some understanding about that? There is, surely? /me sighs...

Rightio... on with the important stuff. *Mimikri hot couture* has long been a favorite of mine and always produced some bloody fantastic pieces of clothing, with great flair and a keen eye for unusual trends. Mimi puts out lovely freebies too, and is a very approachable lady as she enjoys a chat with her customers if she's not too busy. The outfit comes in a number of very sultry colours, and is a lovely texture of extremely sparkly sequins. The skirt can be worn on its own with a plain top, so would be great to mix and match with other stuff from an inventory, making it very versatile. It also has that great new high waist on a jacket layer, giving even more options. Skirt comes in at L$150 and the jacket at L$110 so may be a bit beyond most newb budgets. Sorry folks.

However, at her Rue D'Antibes shop there is a gorgeous little posh frock for L$1, and while you are at it make certain you check out all of this sim. There is great shopping to be had, and it is a lovely place to meet friends for a stroll. Both the necklace and earrings were from the Rue and were a L$1 each (I ain't saying where, as it'll make you look).

My hair is from BP*, a grand little shop in Osaka with some cool lucky chairs. I just loved this style as it's quirky enough to set off Mimi's Joy outfit and give it a 20's twist. Available only in black and L$100 for two sizes in the pack. Osaka is definitely worth exploring as there are lots of things to be had for very little, and it is a lovely, lovely place too.

The shoes are from ETD, as blogged previously, and are the Heel Strap Platforms in steel. At L$175 I think they are a bargain - still! :D
The back view of the skirt and jacket, showing that unavoidable fault of system skirts i.e. making even a sensibly sized arse look as if it is akin to a continent.

Skin is the S.Y.D. Autism freeb.

Have a great time searching, exploring and shopping, my lovelies. Byee. xxx

To Be Free?

Today I read a disturbing blog about how ungrateful the herd is to the designers that work in SL for the benefit of us all. I read that there are folk that actually demand changes to the freebies these designers give out, or abuse the staff that work in their stores. I am completely astounded that there exists a group of ill-mannered and ill-bred boors who believe that it is their right to have whatever they want delivered instantly. It appalls me.
I am, by admission, a freebie whore but, I can guarantee that as my alts, I have spent enormous amounts of money in many different stores across SL, and I have always found the designers to be helpful and polite. Yes, they may take time to get back to you if there is a problem, but they are busy, because, and here it takes a certain amount of imagination to access this information, they are making stuff for we who would otherwise be naked. It's true that I have not IM'd a designer to thank them for a freebie, but I have always done so if they have been present in the store, and allowed them to know how greatly I appreciate their work. So, for all those freebies I've taken, and not said thanks for, please accept them now.
Nuff said...

This outfit isn't free, so much as cheap, and I really like the look. Well, I would, wouldn't I?
The top and the jeans are both by Aleri Darkes who makes and designs Diversity Hair. The *AD* label is something I hadn't really looked at before, but it is really good as you can see from this rather gorgeous top I'm wearing. This is the neutral version, which retails at L$25. The jeans are L$13 and hug my arse like a sex-starved bloke.
The back view shows the amazing detail for the free lingerie that is available at Dutch Touch through the subscribe-a-matic group thingy-wotsit. And it is ace, my lovelies, abso-fuckin-lutely ace. Iki Ikarus makes wonderful clothes and if this av was a neko, or goth, I would own everything she's made twice over. Her skins are pretty bloody smashing too.
The skin I'm wearing is a gift from ***Digit Darkes***. It has a pile of other stuff in the folder to go with it, including another 3 skin tones, and tintable nail varnish, as well as several brow options. I love this skin; it is sexy, and smouldering, and makes me look HAWT. Which I am, in case there is any doubt... :P
My hair is another freebie from *booN, that I got the other day. It comes in a wide range of colours, and I wasn't sure till I wore it with this skin. Now I think it looks fine, fine, fine and boys can wear it too, but I think it looks way cute on ME!
Bracelets are from :::Sn@tch:::, who is a fine designer btw, as well as a generous one.
Shoes: see my previous blog, and the other bits of jewellery are ages old freebies from the Fash*Con Day when SL crashed. That necklace is my utter fave tho... ;)

Right, must away to beddy byes. Enjoy, people. xx
